Oh, the Christmas songs are wonderful, aren't they? Perhaps his new album will grow on you with time. My favorites are still ''Greetings from Michigan'' and ''Seven Swans,'' though.

Looking at these pop-ups again, I love the shadows that some of them make (Uplift and Outbreak, especially).

Hello again! Pulp just means mash it all up-or puree-but you don't need to strain. I just used a blender-I chopped the clementines up a bit first-they are quite liquidy. The only thing I did do was to take out the little woody star bit at the bottom of each clementine-before I cooked them.

Amazing how pop-up papers can be so realistic!!! I'd never heard about Thomas Allen or his work, but it's a great discover for today. I love the ambiance of 50's - 60's designs, and it comes really touchy here.
The book be a perfect present for Christmas. Thanks a lot!

Fantastic concept. For me, the tension between attempting to make these cutouts come to life and the inherent stiffness and lifelessness the figures have make for a mesmerising combo; like butterflies pinned to a board.
