Chloé of Paris

Thursday, September 9, 2010

About 6 years ago Chloé and I became MySpace friends. She was the first girl I'd ever met who liked so many of the same things that my sis and I loved and grew up on. Seemingly frivolous things, like films and books and music. Things that, despite of how shallow it may sound, seem to have become a big part of what we call likes in life. It's clear now that there's a whole army of us, but at the time my friend Chloé was (and still is now really) mind boggling to me. She’s also the reason I started to blog. She started hers over a year before I started doing the same, wasn't completely biting... though guess maybe I was? She sort of kept telling me to start one, and when Chloé tells you do something you can’t help but think it's a good idea. Above+below, photos of the it girl and her adorable CANCAN.

Also, photos and a video from her current project as coordinator and producer of Cabaret and Burlesque Revues. Many are in Paris but they are also held in various other cities. Would LOVE to attend one... gorgeous and glamorous, very Chloé like!

Fantastic post!
I met Chloe when I was in high school - I the shy nerd, she the coolest and stylish chick in school. We became friends at once, very intensely and are friends to this day.
She calls me Punkie, because of the short red hair I used to have and a Union Jack tank top I used to wear.

I always knew she was exceptionally talented. She has PERFECT taste (except for those Ugg boots, sorry Chloe), an amazing knowledge of art and an extreme sensitivity.
Je t'aime, ma Chloe.

What a nice post. I met some of my best friends on internet.

So sweet! The internet is the best place to meet people with the same interests. It's possible in real life, but they're harder to find because people don't usually put as much info out there about that stuff. Liking similar music/movies/etc. may seem trivial, but it makes it so fun to talk to or hang out with someone -- they usually get your sense of humor and know what you're talking about. :)

what a great internet friend! it goes without saying that it's not that easy to find someone you connect with on so many levels.

Wow wee! What an uber glam puss your pal is Gabbi! Some folk are just totally and utterly glam without batting an eye lid - I think Chloe is one of those people! How lovely to have such an exotic friend! These photos are gorgeous!

Thank you girls! ♥ ♥ ♥

-Mary-Laure, I very much would LOVE to see a photo of you and Chloé at that age! Can just imagine how adorable you two must've been! Also, hopefully one day I'll get to meet you both in person... *bises*

-You're right Rebecca, what we call 'likes' in life does have so much to do with humor and the way we see things! It sounds shallow, but there's some truth to it. Maybe not always, but lots of the time.

-Sam, she is so very glamorous isn't she? She sort of inspires me in that direction? Your illustrations are a source of my glam inspire also. I keep my 'Gabriela' print right by my vanity mirror partly for that reason. Inspires and adorns beautifully!!

Hey there. What an amazing post. Thanks for your comment on my last blog post. It was great hearing from you. I hope all is well with you. I'm looking for a new job, plus I'm thinking about going back to college. Take care. Have a wonderful week ahead!

-Agree Melissa! Just the happy distraction alone that I get from the internet is such a help in life. ♥

-Keith! That's so awesome that you're thinking of going back to school. It sounds like such a positive way to deal with tough times. Also, glad you love Chloé as much as I do! Hope you're having a good new week!

Oh, this post is so sweet! I love how you described her, and she seems like an awesome lady indeed. Many of my friends these days are ones I've "met" online (such as yourself, dear Gabbi), and I love how online media brings people together (did that sound cheesy? It probably did, lol).

p.s. I'm putting together a little package for you! so sorry it's taking me a long time.
