Shadows, a mini-Diana
and Fortune telling machines…

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Good morning!

Today my friend and musician Thomas Schärer (whose wonderful music you can hear *HERE*) sent me a link to the recently premiered music video of Au Revoir Simone’s Shadows. It was posted by David Lynch on his Foundation Television site. Apparently David is a friend and fan of the group. Great video, directed by Brendan Colthurst and Vikram Gandhi... Thank you Thomas!

Also, as many of you already know I'm very fond of miniatures. Have you seen Diana of our.city.lights mini Lomo giveaway? Adorable isn't it? Be sure to *ENTER* today!

Lastly, (below) a mechanical fortune telling machine from our summer trip to San Francisco. The machine was part of the San Francsico Musèe Mècanique, located near Fisherman's Wharf. Interesting and inexpensive. Amazing to see such a huge collection of antique machines.

This was my fortune… sort of creepy and true in some areas.

I just adore Au Revoir Simone! I listened to nothing but them for quite some time. This song is so lovely and I had not heard it, much less seen the video, so thank you for sharing.

I've always wanted to get a fortune from one of those machines. Next time I see one I will make sure to do so.

Hoping you're having a lovely week!

The fortune telling machine :D ... it reminds me of Big that movie with Tom Hanks. I remember watching it so many times as a kid and the statue in the machine would scare me a little bit!

I love those fortune telling machines. They are so spooky. Your fortune is good.
Your sister's parrot looks great! If I didn't have cats I would wnat one. I would love to go to school with a parrot on my shoulder like a pirate! We had a pirate day last year and I pretended I had been called away and Captain Wallis had come to take over. I had such fun and hopefully the kids did too(though I think I may have scared a couple of them by insisting I really was Captain Wallis!)

Those fortune telling machines kind of freak me out. I am always intrigued, but kind of uneasy at the same time.

Love the band!
