Newport Beach

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I live about 40 minutes from a number California beaches, a shorter distance than what it takes for me to get to work everyday, yet before this weekend I hadn’t seen an ocean since I visited New York over a year ago. I forget how much I like the beach and its tides until I'm there; such calmness in staring at something so grand...

The Ferris wheel at the Balboa Peninsula Pier.

Painted shells, cute California kitsch! Sounds like a poem doesn't it?

We wanted to rent a boat but not everyone felt up to the adventure, I think the sign might've scared them.

My lovely sister Anna, I really liked her hat...

Scary Tsunami sign...

Place for Taffy.

A little pale... :)

¡Besos!

such inviting pictures! I have not been to the beach in a while. your pictures make me want to visit Balboa. My last beach trip was to Venice but I do love those OC beaches.

Brilliant pictures. I love seeing summer through particularly creative and talented bloggers' eyes!

If I had laid eyes on those painted novely seashells, I fear I would have come home with a purse-full of them! I love them so much!
